Beautiful. Magnificent. Strong standing. Trees! Can anyone tell me why trees are so important to us and the environment?
They produce oxygen!
We can use them to make paper.

Tall, strong, and sturdy. It gives shade and the leaves rustle when the wind blows. The bark is rough and it smell woodsy.
Okay, now everyone get into groups. You are going to share and discuss the words you came up with. How did those descriptions make you feel?
I'm writing an acrostic poem!
Alright, time to have a seat under your chosen tree and write your own poem like we discussed in class! Be sure to take the words and feelings you came up with earlier to help you express how you feel about nature!
I want to try writing a haiku..
Why did you choose to write in the poetic form you did? After listening to everyone read their poems out loud, which kind did you like the most and why? Now that we're finished exploring, we will be putting together a class Poet-Tree book!
