Mary shows fear in the court for trying to come clean. It backfires on her when Abigail turns on her to make it look like Mary was putting a bad spirit on Abigail and the other girls.

Ann Putnam is being prejudice by accusing Rebecca Nurse for witchcraft. Ann accuses her because Rebecca delivered all of her children and only one out eight survived. Ann believes it is the only explanation for her daughter not waking.

Abigail is worried about her reputation when Samuel Parris tells her that he knows she was dancing in the woods with other girls. Which he thinks has to do with witchcraft.
Tituba shows fear and paranoia when Abigail accused her of witchcraft, which causes Tituba to be beaten. Even though she did not commit the crime, Tituba confesses that she did so they would stop beating her.
Abigail accuses Elizabeth of making her stab herself with a "voodoo doll" using a pin. Abigail seen Mary making a doll for Elizabeth and hides a pin in it. She wants to get rid of Elizabeth so she can have John.
Proctor did not want to give up his name. He decided that he would rip up the document he signed and be hung instead of being a liar.
