  • So tired but I have to keep going
  • Symbol: The North Star could symbolize freedom. "He follows the Star/With a hope that shines" God could symbolize hope and faith. "Have been led by God/By a faith/That is free"
  • A:Allusion
  • Imagery: An example is "His clothes are tattered/His feet are bare/They bleed from frostbite" This shows how horrible and difficult the journey was to freedom.
  • T:Tone
  • How am I going to make it all the way to freedom with all these difficult conditions? But, I am still going on, I'll never give up
  • Alliteration: An example is "Freedom through Flight." This means he has to start moving and start his journey to freedom.
  • T:Theme
  • I did it. I made it to FREEDOM!!!
  • Allusion: An example of an allusion could be the North Star. The North Star is an important thing. "He follows the Star/But I'll then be free."
  • The North Star is important and helped guide the slaves to freedom.
  • Tone: The tone could be hopeful, determined ,and harsh. The tone is hopeful and determined because this boy is going on a journey hoping for his freedom. The tone is also harsh because of the conditions he has to go through to get his freedom.
  • Theme: The theme is the message. The theme could be if you believe and are hopeful, then you achieve and become anything.
