Storyboard Text

  • "look, its just a little piece of river; once we take that...the confederacy will be cut in two!"
  • Yay!
  • Yeah, when we get to Kentucky i'm gunna set up a Confederate general
  • ...my opinion on McClellan, I'll tell you I don't think he wants to win...
  • Jethro and Jenny were reviewing the map of Mississippi and discovered that if the Union takes over the river between Baton Rouge and Vicksburg, the Confederacy would be cut in two.
  • I'm going to have to relieve you of your duties!
  • The Confederate general, Bragg, and his army had driven the Federates out of the Cumberland gap and began moving up to Kentucky. Bragg began to boast about setting up a Confederate government in Kentucky.
  • I do not think we will win this war...
  • The men working on Jethro's family barn were discussing the imperfections of President Lincoln and the Union general McClellan, saying that his army was disorganized and hopeless.
  • The Northerners don't believe in us anymore, maybe we should just return home
  • You're right...
  • In Antietam, the Confederacy, once again, defeated the Federates, because of this, President Lincoln had relieved general McClellan of his duties. The new Union general was Ambrose Burnside, a stubborn man who took action.
  • The two battles at Fredericksburg and Stones river were Confederate victories.  The more victories from the Confederacy, discourage people in the North.
  • Northerners began to lose faith in leaders and Union soldiers, so soldiers began to desert from the army and return to their home, Illinois.
