I hate this! I wish I was back in Barbados where we had slaves do all the work!
When Kit was on the boat to Connecticut, she wanted the people to serve her. She hated the smell of the boat and did not like being below deck.
Event 4: Kit meets Hannah
Kit arrives at her Aunt Rachel's house. She has 7 bags full of beautiful clothing. She wants her two cousins to see what she has and admire it. Her Uncle Matthew wants none of his family to see it.
Event 5: Kit starts to change
Kit never had to work in Barbados. Now she has to work. Judith has Kit help her pick onions in the onion patch. Kit doesn't like it and the only thing she can think of the whole time is how sorry she is for herself.
Event 6: Selfless
Kit feels different from the Puritans, like she doesn't belong. She runs to the meadow and cries. Hannah finds her and tells her everything will be fine and takes her to her house.
It will be alright child.
Kit starts to realize that the world doesn't revolve around her. Hannah has had her house burnt down, everything is taken away from her, and she has to leave yet she still has a good attitude and is smiling.
Kit doesn't want Prudence at the trial because she does not want her to get in trouble for learning to read and write and for going to Hannah's. Prudence stands up for both of them and makes Kit innocent and makes her father proud.
