With one last slash of his shiny, silver, sharp sword, Theseus slays the ghastly Minotaur.
Before he leaves Crete, Theseus releases the Athenians from the prison cell and dashes back to the ship. On the way, he realises he doesn't really love Ariadne so he drops her off at a desert island, then continues his journey home.
In his haste to get back home, Theseus forgets to change his sails from black to white. King Aegeus thinks his son is dead and, utterly miserable, throws himself off the cliff.
