Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • I hate it here!
  • Conflict
  • The Boardwalk is so much fun!
  • Rising Action
  • Mmm... Delicious!
  • Logan Jhonson arrives in Khumbu, Nepal with her parents and immediately misses her sunny beach home home back in Southern California. Her parents are mountain climbers, so they are used to the frigid weather.
  • Climax
  • Yes! We made it!
  • Logan calls her friends back in California who are on summer vacation. They are all at the boardwalk while she got stuck in gloomy old Nepal to climb Mount Everest with her parents. Her parents told her, "it was going to be the most exiting climb of their lives", but of course she didn't believe them. Logan just wanted to leave.
  • Falling Action
  • The next day, Logan's parents take her to Thamo, a small village inside the Khumbu region. After complaining about her hunger, she feels a small tap on her shoulder. She turns around to find Tananiya, a sherpa girl. Logan couldn't help but notice a pretty necklace around her neck. Tananiya brings the Jhonsons into her home and introduces them to some prepared tsampa, a flour made from toasted grain mixed with butter tea. Everyone, except Logan, enjoyed it.
  • Resolution
  • A few days later, Logan finds herself scaling Mount Everest alongside her parents and Tananiya as their sherpa guide. For once she finds that she is pushing herself to get to the top. She finds that she isn't complaining. As they finally reach the pinnacle of the wondrous mountain, Logan realizes that she really appreciated where she was that moment in life. She really appreciated the culture of her sherpa friend, and was sad that they could only spend a couple minutes at the summit.
  • Everyone climbed sadly down Mount Everest. They all wanted to stay up there forever, but there wasn't enough oxygen. The day after the climb was the Jhonsons' departing day. As they were just driving passing Thamo to get to the airport, Logan heard someone calling to her. She looked out the window to find Tananiya running after their taxi. The taxi jolted to a stop and Logan flew out of the car. Tananiya ran up to her and gave Logan the rope necklace that she was wearing. Logan thanked her friend for the last time and climbed back into the taxi.
  • As Logan flew away, she took one last look out the airplane window and smiled. She knew she would always remember her trip to Nepal.
