Ow! I just got a sudden, terrible rupturing pain in my abdomen!!!!
An hour ago, Tom felt a brutal pain in his stomach area. He rushed to the hospital as fast as possible.
Well Tom, the results are in. It seems as though you are passing gallstones.
"It seems as though you've been eating a lot of cholesterol lately, Tom," said Doc. "You will need to let this pass, as there is nothing we can do here to assist the passing. Surgery is a very pricey option, if you are unable to pass the gallstone on your own.
I should be fine. But I wonder: What could have caused this? I am very healthy, in fact I have lost 20 pounds in the last month! Where did I go wrong?
TOM?!? That's just it! Losing weight at a fast rate like that significantly increases your risk of gallstones! I would recommend losing weight at no more than 1.5 lbs/week.
As Tom was anxious, he decided surgery was the best option for his gallstones. He had his three gallstones removed, then moved on with his day much more informed about his lifestyle!
