Upon arrival the first thing all of the immigrants would see was the Statue of Liberty which symoblized freedom and a fresh start for them .
After being docked the immigrants would leave their luggage in a room and proceed to a room called the Registry room where doctors would look for signs of disease in any immigrant.
Once they've been checked by a doctor they would go into one of the more difficult parts of coming to America, the Legal Inspection. This inspection consisted of 29 questions which varied from money, work, education, crime background and so on. If any are answered "Incorrectly" you would be sent back.
Sadly if you didn't pass the Registry room you would be quarantined, and if you didn't pass the legal inspection you would be put into a room for a few days or even a month. While in their you are faced with the simple truth of being sent back home or having the slim chance of being accepted.
For those who passed all the legal requirements and the health requirements went towards the "Stairs of Separation" where they would head down south or up north if not they would go west.
While at the "Stairs of Separation" other than deciding where to go to in the states they would also have the option to change their currency to the USD currency. Once doe with receiving id at the Island they were off to roam the U.S. and make a better living.
