Storyboard Text

  • The Indus River Civilization existed 5,000 years ago.
  • The Indus Valley was located along the Indus River.
  • Most homes were made with mud bricks.
  • Most people used their homes as workshops.
  • Most people took showers while standing on shower trays and tipped the clean water over themselves from a jar.
  • Bath houses and toilets to the right
  • The dirty waters from homes flowed through pipes into a drain in the street.
  • The Great Bath is without doubt the earliest public water tank in the ancient world.
  • The tank measured approximately 12 meters north-south and 7 meters wide, with a maximum depth of 2.4 meters.
  • The seal depicts a seated figure that possibly has three heads.
  • The Indus people may have used seals to make a type of tag.
  • With no money to trade the Indus people probably exchanged goods.
  • The end of the trade led to the abandoning of cities because trade networks stopped.
