  • Sculptures, statues and magnificent buildings were commonly seen during the Hellenistic Age.

  • In this age, cultural diffusion occurred. Greeks picked up Persian traditions (clothing), and Persians picked up Greek traditions (athletics). Athens was the cultural center of Greece with lots of art, celebrations, and competitions
  • Culture
  • Alexander named many cities after himself, and when he died, people thought no one was great enough to replace Alexander. As a result of his work, Hellenistic Civilization (a blend of many societies) would flourish for centuries.

  • Math and science became more advanced. The idea of a round earth was introduced, and Greeks expanded their knowledge of geometry.

  • Women were no longer restricted to home. Some became sculptors and artists, and other became philosophers. Many learn how to read and write.

  • Doctors studied the cause of illnesses and educated themselves on cures. They helped the sick and injured  and vowed to never harm their patients.
