Her actual name was Norma Jeane. She lived in a foster care because her dad left her before she was even born and her mom didn't have the time to take care of her. Her mom paid 5 dollars to any family that was willing to take are of her for a week. Unfortunately her mom was taken to a mental institution. So her aunt grace adopted her.
Because of Norma's body development at a young age she got a lot of unwanted attention from boys and girls from school.
Fame and Love
Her aunt Grace and her husband left to move across the country and they couldn't take Norma. She didn't want to get put back in the Foster Care System so she decided to get married at 16. Her first husband was James Dougherty. They were married for four years, but the love didn't last so she field for a divorce.
As she grew older she started getting more passionate about acting and singing. She eventually got a job as a model. She spent all of her on dance lessons and singing lessons. She eventually got her name "Marilyn Monroe" during this process. She did a couple of photo shoots for magazines and calendars but she eventually got fired for not being photogenic. This left her very insecure for a while.
She never gave up. One of her close friends helped her get another modeling career and that later went into acting. Her first acting scene was just walking in the background in a movie, and after this scene many people wanted to act with her. She later met this man named Joe DiMaggio and they got married. She became an inspiration to many people around the world and one of the biggest beauty icons ever. She was worth $200 million world wide.
On August 5, 1962, she was found dead in her home in LA. She was lying in her bed holding a telephone and empty pill bottles were everywhere. She overdosed, and died at the age of 36.
