King Midas and the gardener's boy discover Silenus the Satyr in the garden
King Midas allows Silenus to stay with him for a while, particularly long enough for the satyr to be content with returning home.
Midas is rewarded with a single wish to be granted by Dionysus for taking care of Silenus. He chooses the golden touch.
King Midas returns to his castle and tests his golden touch ability for the first time and it works. But when he tries eating, his food is turned to gold, and when he tries drinking, same thing. Eventually, Midas's daughter hugs him, turning herself to gold.
After Midas witnesses the horror of his daughter becoming in animate, Midas begs Dionysus to cleanse the curse from him and Dionysus guides him to the river Pactolus.
Midas is cleansed of the curse and returns to his his daughter where he embraces her, now living, happy to have her back.
