  • Hey dad how are tornadoes caused?
  • Do humans affect how bad tornadoes can be?
  • Well when cold dry air and warm humid air collide and the warm air rises through the colder air and that forms an updraft. When that hits the ground a tornado is formed.
  • unfortunately, Yes they do.
  • Well how do we affect them?
  • Global warming. Humans burn fossil fuels and releases huge amounts of carbon dioxide into our atmosphere and the warmer it is the more tornadoes we have.
  • Tornadoes are rapidly rotating column's of air, right?
  • Yes! And they usally occur in tornado alley which is the great plains. And they can happen at any time of the year.
  • How many tornadoes does America get?
  • About 1,000 a year.
  • Well what can humans do to lower the amount of tornadoes?
  • Well humans can cut down on how many fossil fuels we burn. I hope you learned a bit more about tornadoes.
