  • I am Beowulf, and I am worthy of defeating the evil monster Grendel.
  • All of Hrothgar's people were dying and he could not do anything to save them. He was extremely sorrowful.
  • We are coming for you evil Grendel!
  • Talk about Grendels attacks spread to a nearby kingdom of the Geats. The Geat's ruler, Hygelac, had a man worthy of defeating Grendel. His name was Beowulf.
  • Who are you? What are you doing here, dressed for battle?!
  • Beowulf gathered 14 of the best warriors in his village to help him fight the evil creature.
  • I have never seen many men come ashore dressed for battle. I see that your leader is Hygelec, and what a mighty warrior he is! But you must tell me who the heck you are before I call up my boys to fight you.
  • Once Beowulf and his army were dressed in their armour and swords, they set sail for the land of the Danes.
  • The shore watchman watched Beowulf's army come ashore. He was sceptical because they were dressed for war, and he was not in the mood to tussle.
  • Beowulf and his men listened to the watchman go off on them.
