Noelle's Quarantine Renovation

Noelle recently was put on self quarantine due to a virus in the world. She decided if she is going to be stuck inside all this time. She better make it enjoyable and is redecorating parts of her house. She thought it would be best to use the trigonometry skills she just learned from her geometry teacher!

- Since I am quarantined in my home, I want to renovate to make it more cozy! First my bookshelf.
- I need to know the height of my bookshelf to decorate it. The width of the left side is 6 ft, and there is a diagonal of 10 ft going across. Using the Pythagorean Theorem I know the height is √64, which is 8 ft.
- Now I want to change out my light fixtures to color changing bulbs!
- I need to use a ladder with the correct length. I need the ladder to land directly below the lights, at a height of 9 ft. The angle of elevation from where I stand is 55 degrees. - I know that the height is 4 ft and the length from the beginning of the stairs to the 6th step is 6 ft (the floor). I need to find the angle of elevation from the floor to the 6th step.
- I need to take care of my grandma, but she has a wheel chair so I have to order a ramp for her!
- If I use tan^-1, I get an angle of approximately 34 degrees!
- I know that half of the width of the floor is 12 ft, and the angle of elevation is 42 degrees. Using cosine, I know the hypotenuse is a length of approximately 16.1 ft.
- I would need 32.2 ft to cover both sides with light strips!
