Storyboard Text

  • DNA is found inside the nuclues, or the control center of the cell.
  • Transcription is when the DNA unzips itself and it´s genes are copied. Once it is copied, it zips itself back up. The new half of the DNA is called mRNA.
  • The mRNA travels out of the nucleus and into the cytoplasm to a rybosome
  • tRNA
  • Ribosome
  • The Ribosome reads the mRNA strand three bases at a time and the tRNA bring over the amino acids that the Ribosome needs.
  • Amino Acids
  • When the m RNA and the Ribosome are done reading the Bases they are left with a strand of amino acids that all become a protein.
  • If there were problem with either process, this could end very badly. You are essentially, made completely out of protein. So if there was a problem with the protein, there could be a mutation.
  • ???
  • Strand of mutated Amino Acids
