  • This is the Indian Bible: The Vedas. It is very important to Indian Religon.

  • There are two major rivers in India.  There is the Indus River and the Ganges River. The Ganges River is the most polluted river in the world and is the most important river in India.

  • Look at this totally real life-size scroll! (Actually don't, it's not real)
  • Monsoons are huge rainstorms brought in by seasonal winds and are kept there for months by the mountains. There are two monsoons a year in India. There is one in the summer that bring hot and wet air and one in the winter that brings cold and dry air.

  • The Vedas are a collection of hymns and poems. They explain the Indian religion, Hinduism. It has four different parts, or chapters.

  • The time between 1500-1000 BC is known as the Vedic Period. That is the time when the Vedas were written.
  • All of India's achievements are told in two very long poems. They are called the Mahabharata and the Ramayana.

  • The three subjects of the poems are mostly daily life, wars, and accomplishments. One of their accomplishments is the creation of the Hindu-Arabic Numerals.
