There was this man who had dreamed of sending a satellite into space since he was a little kid.
He spent all of his time studying and learning different tactics about the differences in forces that went along with sending and flying objects into outer space.
He would wondered what had to be done in order to keep the satellite in a circle at a constant speed, revolving around earth.
He realized that earth, the moon, and the sun all had forces that would have an effect of it's motion.
The satellite would need to travel horizontally for 8000 meters before it would fall 5 meters vertically. This is caused by earth's curve.
Gravity causes the satellite to continue to orbit around earth. The orbit makes the satellite have a tangential velocity, this means that the direction of the velocity vector at any instant is in the direction of a tangent line drawn to the circle (orbit) at the object's location.
