Storyboard Description

A young boy is approached by a child predator and we analyze the fight or flight response when he is grabbed by the predator.

  • FIGHT
  • FLIGHT
  • Section 1 of script. Father addressing son about what to do if approached by a stranger 
  • Neuron Labeling
  • Section 2 of script: Attacker approaches child and grabs him
  • Fight ~bullet points about fight response
  • Section 3 of script: Inside the brain, the son is debating whether he should fight or flee.
  • Flight ~bullet points about flight response
  • Section 4 of script: The brain releases signals from the hypothalamus down the neurons to trigger a response.
  • Initial response is FIGHT
  • Once free, the response changes to FLIGHT
  • Section 5 of script: The son gets the signal to fight. The scientist describes what is happening in the body during fight. 
  • Section 6 of script: Son breaks free and runs to father. Scientist explains what is happening in the body during flight.
