  • Proclamation of 1763
  • We want to move west! -The Colonist
  • No! -The King
  • Stamp Act
  • Must pay! Taxes on All papers.
  • NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION.
  • Townshend Act
  • Why? It raises our taxes, and we're already poor!
  • The Parliament passed the Townshend acts.
  • The King declared that the Colonists could not cross the Appalachian Mountains to move  west. 
  • Boston Massacre 
  • Colonists had to pay a tax on every piece of paper they used, so they started to boycott buying paper.
  • Boston Tea Party
  • This was a tax put on Colonists for imported goods.
  • First Continental Congress
  • We can govern ourselves! We can tax ourselves. Repeal the acts!
  • Several Colonists were killed just because they were throwing snowballs, sticks, and rocks, and they were very upset that only 2 British soldiers were found guilty.
  • Colonists tried to dress up as indigenous people and they dumped 342 containers of tea into the harbor. They did it because they were so mad about the taxes they did a rebellious act out of anger.
  • The First Continental Congress was a meeting of delegates from the colonies in reaction of the Coercive Acts, a series of measures imposed by the British government on the colonies in response to their resistance to new taxes.
