Mme. Loisel was a very interesting person. "She let herself be married to a minor and the Ministry of Education". " She dressed plainly because she had never been able to afford anything better".
When her husband came home he said "I have something for you!" It was an invitation to a party. She answered " What do you want me to do with that."
Mme. Loisel didn't have a lot of money so she told the store clerk, "I think I can do it with four hundred francs." Which meant that is how much she could afford.
When the party began to come closer, Mme. Loisel wasn't having second choices about her outfit. She wished to have more jewelry. She said " I'm upset that I have no jewels. I would almost rather not go to the party."
Once she told her husband she needed jewelry, they went back to the store. The clerk took out a box and said " Choose my dear."
The day of the party she went and stated " I was prettier that all the women there." Later that night the necklace broke and her husband lied to cover up his wife and they waited 10 years to pay off the necklace just to find out it wasn't worth what they saved.
