Researchers have found that one animal goes extinct about every minute. That is 1,000 to 10,000 times faster than it should be going. Normally, one to five animals should go extinct each year. And it’s not only animals that are going extinct. 68% of known plant species are endangered. According to researchers, half of all living species could be gone within the next 100 years.
The situation we are facing now will be the sixth mass extinction since the dinosaurs. Unless we stop it. We have to act now, within the next 10 - 20 years, or it will be too far gone.
If we protected half of the Earth's surface, 84% of species would be saved from going extinct.
