  • The Battle of Fort Sumter marked the beginning of the Civil War.
  • Daniel Hough was a U.S. soldier that was the first man to die in the Civil War. His death was accidental, caused by a cannon that went off during a salute to the flag after the Battle of Fort Sumter.
  • The battle of Fort Sumpter
  •  From the 3rd Armored Division, 7 soldiers were killed in action and another 27 soldiers were wounded in action during combat operations .
  • The Battle Of Norfolk
  • The Battle of Norfolk was a tank war, meaning tanks were the main weapon.
  • The Union had more than 2,300 dead, wounded or captured, while the Confederates suffered more than 4,200 casualties. 
  • The Battle of Corinth
  • The Second Battle of Corinth was fought October 3–4, 1862, in Corinth, Mississippi.
