Jupiter: "Our world has become evil, and I must fix it. I shall set fire to our Earth, but it may reach the heavens. I insead shall flood the Earth to rid of evil."
And so, Jupiter flooded the Earth except for the summit of Parnassus.
Deucalion and his wife Pyrrha came by boat and found refuge on the summit of Parnassus. When Jupiter recognized their piety, Jupiter withdrew the flood and let them live.
Deucalion and Pyrrha then were instructed to repopulate the world or "throw your mother's bones" (stones) behind them.
With every stone thrown by Deucalion and Pyrrha, became a person. This led to the repopulation of the Earth.
