Lạc long quân had superhuman power and liked to stay next to water. He took over his father's throne and governed the Lạc Viet tribe.
Lạc long quân married Au Co and had one hundred chilren and lived as a happy family until Lac Long Quan decided they should split up because he wanted to stay near the coast while Au Co wanted to stay in the highlands.
Lac Long Quan took 50 children to the coast and divided certain areas to govern. He then educated his people by fishing, art of tattoos, agriculture, and cooking
Au Co took 50 children to the highlands and also divided areas to govern. The people who lived in highlands area learned to breed animals and grow fruit. To avoid wild animals, they lived on high grounds houses made of bamboo trees.
Despite the seperation, Lac Long Quan and Au Co made promises to always help each other when they needed it. They made sure they didn't break their bond.
Ever since the Bach Viet race scattered throughout south Asia, the children of Lac Long Quan and Au Co are the ancestors of Vietnam. Therefore the vietnamese are known as "Dragon and Fairy Descendants."
