  • The Black Dot that Mr Summers made on the paper with the heavey pencil Represents Selection of the winner of the Lottery
  • Theme
  • The Flowers Were Blossoming Profusley is a very sweet and beautiful image which in hindsight is very ironic given the gruesome events about to unfold
  • Figures of Speech
  • 34 x 17=578
  • "Bobby Martin Had Already Stuffed His Pockets Full Of Stones" is an example of foreshadowing because Bobby is preparing to stone the Lottery winner
  • I beleive the main theme of The Lottery is that Some Traditions are best left in the past becuase stoning people in the 90's is just ridiculously out of the wrong time period
  • "The black box grew sharper" is an example of personification because an inanimate box can not be sharper or smarter.
