  • Before humans were made, there was only a void of space. However, once the element of fire and ice/water combined, the first giant (Ymir) was created.

  • More gods and giants started to get created by different elements and by gods and giants reproducing. One important example would be Odin, son of Bor the Aesir tribe god, and Bestla the frost giant. Odin is half-god, half-giant.

  • Odin and his brothers head to Ymir to take him on. They want his body to start a new human world. After killing Ymir they use his blood as oceans, skin, and muscles as soil, his hair as the beginning plants, the sky with his skull, and his brains as the clouds. After creating the bases of the human world, he hires 4 dwarves (known as the 4 cardinal points) would hold the world together.

  • After the human world was made, the gods decided to make two humans out of tree trunks and protect them against the giants. Those two humans were called Ask and Embla
