King David had a son named Absalom. Absalom was very handsome and had thick hair that he let grow really long.
Absalom wanted to be king, and he didn't want to wait for his father to die, so he sat outside of the city gates and gave people advice, in hopes that he could become popular enough to stage a rebellion.
Absalom gathered a group of men to fight and dethrone King David, but on the way. his long hair got tangled up in the branches of a tree. David's soldiers found him before he could escape, and he was killed.
