  • Lady Macbeth can't handle the constant thought of killing Duncan, so she chose to not have to deal with it anymore...
  • Macbeth's ambition has been to become King, and at least be Thane of Cawdor."To be king stands not within the prospect of belief, no moreThane to be Cawdor." Once Macbeth had become Thane of Cawdor he thinks that if this ambition had come true maybe becoming king will as well. This is where his ambition starts to take over...
  • Macbeth's ambition has taken over for the worst. His ambition has gotten the best of him. Ambition is something that destroys the meaning of everything for Macbeth. Macbeth had broken the "great chain of being" by killing the king. Ambition: "It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury signifying nothing." Ambition has robbed him and Lady Macbeth from everything valuable in life.
