  • It's so hot out, and the ground is so hot!!
  • You feel this on your feet, because the wood got heat energy from the sun, which you now feel the heat on your feet, which is called conduction.
  • Guys, calm down, it's just radiation transferring up to your faces, which is why you guys feel the heat on your face.
  • Mom, why do I feel heat on my face when I'm not even touching the fire?
  • I'm scared, I feel that too
  • This cell shows a little boy stepping on hot wood, which is an example of conduction, because the heat is being transferred from the wood to the boy's feet.
  • This cell shows 2 kids and their mom camping, and they wonder why they feel heat on their faces. They feel this because the campfire has radiation traveling up as high as it can, also heating their faces.
  • In this cell it shows someone with a boiling bot, looking at the bubbles rise and rink. This process is called convection.
