  • The Lady or the Tiger?
  • The youth goes to the doors and chooses the one on the right, just like the princess had told him to do.
  • The author does not tell us what happened to the youth. We do not know if he chose the lady or the tiger, they leave it up to us to decide what happened. You make up your own ending based on what we know from the story.
  • The main theme in Lady or the Tiger is: choices and consequences. The youth has to pick between two identical doors, one has the tiger and the other has the lady. He gets to pick the door he wants based on how the justice system works for the accused. You get to pick your own fate. Each decision has very different consequences. You either get killed by the tiger or live happily ever after with the lady.
