The story began in an old house with Narrator trying to enter an old man's room. He plans to enter his room and do something, despicable. The two were on good terms but he didn't like his eye, a pale blue eye like a vulture.
When Narrator was about to enter the room, his thumb slipped trying to open the lantern and the old man cried out loud, "Who's there?" and after one long hour he fell asleep and that's when Narrator was about to make a move.
This is Bob!
How are you guys?
When narrator entered the room, he was ready to strike the man. For what he had planned after doing so, he was going to dismember the arms, legs and head and replace the floor boards to get rid of the evidence.
Well well well, look who we have here
After Narrator was done with the deed, The man screamed doing so. The scream was so loud that even the next door neighbour heard it. Because the neighbour heard it, they got suspicious and called the cops.
The cops requested to check the premises and Narrator invited them in with confidence. Soon they found nothing so the three were chatting for awhile. During the time being, Narrator began to hear a ringing in his head and it got louder each second. Narrator felt like admitting the deed so he can end his misery.
Heyy, nice to meet you
Each second the sound got louder and louder. It got so loud that he just couldn't handle any second longer. Soon enough he admitted the deed to the cops. The sound appeared to be in his head and it was the beating of the Old Man's heart.
