Today we are collecting some papyrus to write on the reed bush to dipped the ink in. Us scribes we make ink by grinding brightly coloured minirals into powder, we mix the powder into liquid so it is easy to apply the ink. we collect the papyrus and reed near the Nile River.
we are treated nicely as we are lucky to have an education only 1 out of 100 Ancient eyptians have education we went to school for 12 years and now we are scribes.
we are keeping records ofamounts of soldiers in the army, numbers of workers and amount of gifts given to the gods.
usually boys are scribes but girls are to but it's really unusaul. My mother and father was a scribe so i was born into it the job.
i write down magic spells on temple walls for the future people in Egyptians to see. we also crave spells on the phaorahs tomb to get them to the afterlife .
second job of the day, we are keeping records of food havesting time. havesting time was between April and June depending on the weather.
Third job of the day writing a letter to the fellow villages using the hieroglyphic language it is a complex language but it is beautiful we always write it in detail. the day is finished now! time for my fresh fish from the Nile River and some onion!
