There is a secret passage that lets you go behind the warriors.
Really, this is just great!
General Themistocles' Brilliant Plan
I, General Themistocles have thought of a brilliant idea!
We will lure the Persians into sea.
Battle of Salamis (480 BC)
During the Battle of Thermopylae, a Greek traitor told Xerxes a secret passage that would let the Persians go behind the Greek soldiers knocking all of them out. King Leonidas found out about the Persians victory, and seat all but 300 Spartan soldiers away.
Battle of Plataea (479 BC)
Both Greece and Persia are sabotaging each other.
It is something that can not be helped!
General Themistocles believed that sea war, was a benefit to the Greeks cause the Athenians were better at sea than on land. He also believed the Persians would have huge ships making it easy to target cause Greece has small ships.
After Affect on Athens and Greece
We Athenians and other City-States will help create the Delian League
Thermistocles' plan was a success and the Persian fleet were mostly destroyed. When Xerxes saw 2/3 of his fleet was destroyed, he and 1/3 of this fleet retreated, and ended up going to Athens and burning it.
After Affect on Persia About 100 Years After
During the Battle of Plataea, Spartan leader-Pausanias set up a camp in the foothills of Mt. Cithaeron. Both the Greeks and Persians sabotaged each other for an upper advantage in war.
Though Athens wasn't fully rebuilt, a guy named Pericles helped create an alliance known as the Delian League for protection and other things. The Elders of Sparta disliked the Delian League and decided to make their own alliance known as the Peloponnesian League.
We will not join the Delian League and make our own alliance called the Peloponnesian League.
When the Persian Wars were over, Persia didn't fall right away, it fell after 100 years when a man named Alexander the Great took over.
I, Alexander The Great will now take over the country of Persia
