Storyboard Description

Beowulf Scene

Storyboard Text

  • There once was a quite innocent town that was ruled by a king. The town was a very happy and content with themselves and their lives. They all lived in cottages along the countryside, except the king of course for he lived in the big castle. His castle was the biggest in the land and was very impressive!
  • Many of the common folk that inhabited these vast lands looked up to the king as their full power leader. However, many people looked up to someone else even more. He is a hero, a dedicated knight, and his name is... well we will save that for later, but lets just say that you'd be very impressed from what he has been able to accomplish in his lifetime.
  • One day the villagers got an invitation to a very fancy dinner banquet at the kings castle. Everyone was very thrilled at the idea as this was a rare privilege that was typically only reserved for the highest men of the land such as knights and nobles and so on and so forth. Everyone came and brought a small contribution to the dinner such as bread or fruit.
  • Everyone showed up at the castle and the king could not be more pleased and happy to see all of his land's people show up to have a jolly old time. They all sat down at the banquet table and the candles were lit and the music started to play, why, you could here the grand piano from all across the lands. Everyone was having the time of their lives with amazing food, drink, and conversation...
  • But then the unspeakable happened, something no one could have even imagined was possible in their home town. Suddenly, a guard who was protecting the castle from intruders bolted in to the banquet hall with a horrified look upon his worn down face. He said to the king, "I heard it Sir, the mighty dragon's roar, the same one whom lives within the swamps on the other side of the town... I think he is coming to end all of the innocent lives!"
  • The guard then explained to the king that they need a brave soldier or knight to slay the dragon before it destroys the life of the land. Everyone looked at each wondering who in the world would be brave enough to take on this massive beast. Then from the far side of the banquet hall a hand slowly rose up. It was the man whom I spoke of earlier, and his name was Beowulf. He told the villagers not to worry as he will rise up to the challenge despite the fact that he was getting much older. He started to the swamp with nothing more than his battle sword with which he won many battles in the past. He approached the dragon slowly, and then raised his sword and said "ON GUARD" as load as he could. The dragon turned around and let out a massive cry and then the battle had begone. He slashed and slashed at the dragon but the dragon was very determined, for they ran at each other and killed each other at the same time. Days later, a villager came across the bodies of the dragon and Beowulf. He told everyone else what had happened and the town then mourned. In his memory they dedicated the King's castle to Beowulf with a plaque reading, "Here is to Beowulf, our most loyal protector and bravest man of all the lands who gave his life to save others, he will never be forgotten".
