Storyboard Text

  • *Ruth starts scrambling eggs*
  • Do you want your eggs scrambled or unscrambled?
  • Not scrambled.
  • Thanks, Daddy.
  • Well, I ain't got no fifty cents this morning.
  • What your tell the boy things like that for? (He hands the boy the coin)
  • Some of it got to be put away for Beneatha and her schoolin' and nothing going to touch that part of it
  • This shows how Ruth and Walter do not listen to each other which can start conflicts that affect their marriage or relationship. This can be problematic because everytime they have something important to say they have a good chance of ignoring each other and would fight all the time.
  • This shows that Walter wants to show Travis that he does not live in a poor environment which is not the truth. Walter also doesnt want Travis to see that he lives in a bad family which is in a lower part of the social hierarchy.
  • This shows that mama is confident in her investment for Beneatha's college, and her mind is not going to be changed. Since Beneatha is the youngest daughter in the family she still has a chance in succeeding in life by getting a perfect education and achieving her dream.
