Hi, my name is Patrick Tillman or you can just call me Pat. I was born on November 6, 1976 in San Jose, California to my parents Mary and Patrick.
I put my Arizona Cardinals football career on hold to serve my country. My brother Kevin and I were assigned to the 2nd battalion of the 75th Ranger Regiment in Fort Lewis, Washington.
Pat was a corporal in the United States Army for 2 years. He served tours in "Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003, and in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom in 2004."
“Pat knew his purpose in life,” Dave McGinnis, former Arizona Cardinals head-coach said. “He proudly walked away from a career in football to a greater calling.” Pat was a hero because he left his dream job to fight for his country.
Man down, I repeat, Man down.
Pat stay with me. You will not die today I promise. Where did you get shot? Pat! Pat! Pat wake up!
Corporal Tillman was hit by friendly fire on April 22, 2004.
