Storyboard Text

  • It's lovely dear.
  • Honey, what do you think of my new outfit?
  • Where is my dessert! Servants! Take away my dinner! I want cake!
  • Ha ha ha! time to raise taxes!
  • The new Queen of France, Marie Antionette, was a deal between them and Austria to help with the tension, but right from the beginning, the people of the third estate disliked her because of the previous tension.
  • The King and Queen had to tax the third estate to pay for their crazy spending. But, the King and Queen didn;t tax the first or second estate.
  • The people of the third estate were hungry, cold, and confused. They thought the nobles were going to attack them, so they began to gather and get ready for an attack.
  • The French Revolution -Old Regime -Enlightenment Ideas -National Assembly The Reign of Terror
  • To recap, class, the National Assembly basically started the revolution, eliminated the monarchy, and formed a new government
  • Middle-class citizens, in the third estate, began to read about enlightenment ideas and began to spread those around. People began to realize that they had natural rights
  • Recently, France had had a bad harvest, so there was a shortage of food. This made any food available very expensive. This caused riots and uneasiness within the third estate.
  • Without the National Assembly, it would have taken a lot longer for someone to stand up and fight for their rights, and France would not have ended up the way it did.
