Today the students of Mrs. Soto's third grade class are learning of their writing assignment. Curious and enlightened, they wait for the reveal.
Now, class, today's assignment will be a little different from the persuasive essays we have been doing.
Today, there is a prize involved. The prize is this LARGE lollipop; And, to win it, you must convince me why you should get it in your persuasive essay. The best essay gets the candy. Deal?
I want that candy!
I don't wanna write!
I WILL win that candy. It is my destiny!
Whatever destiny means.
Kyla began to write her draft everywhere she went, from the library to the lunchroom. But, she took a break, to have a little fun before she went back to work, and finally she got her perfect final draft to turn in to Mrs. Soto.
I gotta keep writing until my essay is perfect! I have to win!
Now, everyone read all the essays on the board, write your vote on a sheet of paper, and give it to me. And, I will determine the winner.
Okay guys. To keep this so that we don't pick our friends, the essays don't have names on them. Each essay has a number. Don't tell anyone which paper is yours, so that everyone has a fair chance to win.
