The causes of the Boston Massacre were the colonists revolting against taxes. This is a significant event in itself. 5 colonists died that day, and they were all important people.
The Declaration of Independence stated that every man and woman had defined and unalienable rights and that everyone should no longer be under Great Britain's rule for several grievances. This is significant because it led all of us to independence so we don't have to be bossed around.
The war was the hardest part of this whole thing. We had some very bad conditions, such as sickness and lack of housing in some areas. Advantages that we had were that we got help and we didn't just stand out in the open as the British did. Some disadvantages that we had were our navy and our lack of supplies. Advantages that the British had were their massive army and their powerful navy. Disadvantages for them were that they were always standing in a line out in the open. These were our keys to victory, too.
The Treaty of Paris was the document that actually gave us our Independence that we wanted. It stated that Great Britain recognized the Independence of the United States. This document also set our borders. There on, we had freedom from the British Empire.
