Khadijah was the first wife and first follower of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. Khadijah was the daughter of Khuwaylid ibn Asad, a leader of Quraysh tribe in Mecca.

Khadijah's father, Khuwaylid ibn Asad, was a merchant and leader. According to some/many tradition. Khuwaylid also had a sister named Ume Habib binte Asad. Khadijah's mother, Fatima bint Za'idah was a member of the Amir ibn Luayy clan of the Quraysh.

Khadijah converted to Islam in 601 and she converted to islam because Khadijah was the first person Muhammad spoke to about his initial, terrifying experience of revelation. She consoled him and became the first convert to Islam.
