Long ago, there was a young and handsome Spartan prince named Hyacinth
He was loved and lusted for by many, including Apollo, god of music and art; and Zephyrus, god of the west wind
Wow, He's amazing!
Hyacinth and Apollo fancied each other, and often took long hikes or played discus together
Zephyrus grew jealous of Apollo and Hyacinth's love, so he plotted to get revenge on the couple
This is so unfair! I must find a way to stop this, but how?
One day while Hyacinth and Apollo were playing discus, Zephyrus used his control over the wind to hit Hyacinth with the discus, striking a fatal blow
As Hyacinth lay dying, Apollo tried to use his powers to save Hyacinth, but to no avail. He then changed Hyacinth's spilled blood into the modern-day Hyacinth flower, so that he would not be forgotten.
