  • Background Information
  • How was your hunt, Esau?
  • Great, Jacob, thanks!
  • Jealousy Grows
  • How come Esau gets all of our father's fortune?? It's not fair, he's so dumb!!
  • Jacob Forms His Plan
  • DEAL!
  • If you're so hungry, I'll trade you my soup for your BIRTHRIGHT?
  • Ugh I'm sooo hungry...
  • Once Upon a Time, there were two brothers. One was named Esau and the other named Jacob. Esau was a skilled hunter, but he was dumb and careless. Jacob was a smart boy who had the favor of his mother.
  • Jacob and Rebekah Devise a Plan
  • Esau was the older of the two brothers, so he was promised the blessing of his father, Isaac. Jacob was very jealous of this, and was constantly trying to trick Esau into giving him the blessing.
  • Isaac Gives Jacob the Blessing
  • With my last breath, I give you my blessing.
  • One day, Esau was returning from a long hunting trip and was VERY hungry. Esau saw that Jacob was cooking soup and begged Jacob to give him some. Jacob saw this as an opportunity to steal the blessing from Esau. Jacob offered Esau the soup for the blessing in return. Esau quickly agreed.
  • Esau Becomes Angry with Jacob
  • Now that Jacob had gained the blessing, he needed to convince Isaac, his blind father, that he was Esau. The only problem was that Esau was hairy, and Jacob was not. So Jacob and his mother Rebekah devised a plant to fool Isaac.
  • What if Isaac asks to feel my skin?
  • Aha! I will glue hair to your arm. This way, Isaac will think you are hairy like Esau!
  • Jacob entered the tent where Isaac was lying. Isaac asked to feel the hand of whom he thought was "Esau". Jacob then put goat skin on his arms as his mother had instructed. Isaac felt the hair on Jacob's arms and assumed it was Esau. Isaac passed the blessing then he died.
  • After Esau had realized that Jacob had received the blessing, Esau wanted to kill Jacob. However, Jacob had already fled to a faraway land.
