Ernesto Miranda did a violent crime and is now getting arrested for what he had done to get him arrested in the first place.
Then he went to the police station for questioning. They put him in a interrogation room for two hour long and they came out with "Do the police need to inform a suspect of his 5th and 6th Amendment rights in order to use suspect's confession at the trail".
Ernesto Miranda had argued because he has not been told yet to remain silent. Miranda argued that his confession was not voluntary and that his confession should not been used in court.
The judges then discussed there decision.
There decision was " Yes, because this will prevent police from illegally forcing confessions from illegally forcing confessions from people".
