Storyboard Text

  • I am doubtful that you have been conjuct, And bosomed with her, as far as we call hers.
  • (Aside) I had rather lose the battle than that sister Should loosen him and me.
  • Before you fight the battle, ope this letter. If you have victory, let the trumpet sound For him that brought it
  • In Act 5, Scene 1, Regan asks Edmund if he was sleeping with Goneril and Edmund tells Regan that he would not be with Goneril because he knew it would hurt her.
  • The enemy's in view; draw up your powers.
  • Goneril and Albany enter and Goneril says that she would rather lose the war than lose Edmund and Regan. Then Albany lets everyone know that Lear had joined up with Cordelia before Goneril, Edmund, and Regan leave.
  • Away, old man; give me thy hand; away! King Lear hath lost, he and his daughter ta'en.
  • Edgar who is dressed up as a peasant enters and gives Albany a letter that states that if the British win the war, Edgar will present himself and defend the accusations that were posed against him.
  • No further, sir; aman may not rot even here
  • Edmund re-enters and tells Albany that its time for battle before hes left alone to have his soliloquy. Edmund lets the readers know that he's struggling to pick between Goneril and Regan and also states that once Cordelia and Lear are captured, he will have them killed.
  • Edgar and Gloucester are outside during the battle. Edgar leaves Gloucester before returning to him to tell him that Lear and the french have lost the war as well as the fact that Lear and Cordelia have been captured as prisoners.
  • Gloucester then tells Edgar to leave him there because he wants to die to which Edgar replies that Gloucester cannot choose when he wants to die. The scene ends here.
