Montagues and Capulets were fighting during the South Pointe and Northwestern basketball game. They are in Rock Hill, SC the time period is 2000’s. Romeo is a star basketball player for South pointe and Juliet was the leader of the cheerleading team, they both dressed like we dress we currently dress, and they both are very good kids. Romeo best friend Mercutio crossed Tybalt (Juliet’s cousin) and made the shoot, plus he stepped over him. "Boy, this shall not excuse the injuries that thou hast done me; therefore turn and draw." (act 3,scene 1,pg 229, lines 61-62) says Tybalt. After the game, Mercutio fought Tybalt and he knocked out Mercutio causing him to die of blood loss. While they were fighting Romeo went up and spoke to Juliet and they really hit it off, they hit it off so good that they were planning to get married the next day. "O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?" (act 2,scene 2,pg 210, line 33)
3 am in the morning, Romeo found out that his best friend die. "Well peace be with you. Here comes my man."(act 3, scene 1,pg 229, line 51) He got his revenge on Tybalt by playing him one on one and crossed him causing him to break both of his ankles, he was suffering so much he told the doctor to kill him, and the doctor did so. The Capulets thought that Romeo had fought and killed him which caused everyone in the Capulet family to dislike him except his love. Romeo sneaked into Juliet’s home, and they were cuddled up in the bed and kissing each other a lot, they also were saying how they were going to get married later on in the day. They agreed to get married as a secret at the court-house. The Montagues married Romeo and Juliet, after the marriage they were very excited. "It cannot countervail the exchange of joy" (act 2, scene 6,pg 225, line 4) One consequence was that if they got married, Romeo will have to move from South Pointe so there wouldn’t be any problems, Juliet didn’t know about the consequence.
Then a problem arouse for Romeo which was that he will have to go to Rock Hill high, which is on the other side of town. "O God!- O nurse, how shall this be prevented." (act 3, scene 5, pg 250, line 205) When Juliet found out that he moved to Rock Hill High, she quit cheerleading and over dosed on drugs and died the same day of their marriage, she didn’t think about getting help. The couple wasn’t communicating anymore, and Romeo was upset that she wasn’t texting him back. Hours later he found out his love had died, he was crying all that afternoon. Their families were upset about the situation. "As rich shall Romeo's by his lady's lie-Poor sacrifices of our enmity." (Act 5, scene 3, pg 278, line 333-334) Romeo told them he is going to do something for her, and both families supported him. Every basketball game that Romeo he played for her, he had 60 points a game, he played the same way all the way up through NBA, and he gave the Capulets money and his family money for all the support.
