Mommy has a little calf.Little calf.Little calf.Mommy has a little calf. His nose is black as tar.She calls her calf Asterion.Asterion.Asterion.That's my name-Asterion.I'm Ruler of the Stars.”
“I keep repeatingthat wherever there is life, there is hope. One day my fate will change.”
Kiefer Kettenis, Bull by David Elliott
“Asterion. She calls me by my name, and lights this sunless coffin like a flame.”
Poseidon, the god of the sea, was angry at King Minos for his disrespect so he made his wife fall in love with a bull. They have a child named Asterion, who is half man, half bull.
“THESEUS FEE! FI! FO! FUM!LOOK OUT, HORNHEAD!HERE I COME!”
Asterion is exiled from the Kingdom and lives by himself in a shack. Minos is still concerned about his existence, however, and decides to build a maze for him to wander. Asterion is put into the maze and begins to go insane.
“It's interesting:As a god I almost always find,The more repressed the mortal,The dirtier the mind."
Princess Ariadne, Asterion's half sister, promised to help him escape the maze. Before she could, however, she fell madly in love with Theseus, a man who was going into the maze to kill the Minotaur. He goes in with the mission of killing the minotaur.
Asterion believes Ariadne is coming but realizes it is in fact Theseus, who strikes him down. Thesseus returns and tells Ariadne that Asterion had gone insane and had to be killed.
Theseus and Ariadne marry and live happily until Theseus leaves for another woman. Minos was humiliated as Poseidon had wanted. Asterion was gone after living a life of exile and scorn.
