  • Welcome to the great kingdom of Mali. A story about wealth and power.
  • The beginning ( Geography )
  • The Riches ( Economy)
  • With people learning the way of land, the subjects of Mali uncovered the secretes that lead them to such vast wealth
  • This kingdom shall be one of the richest
  • What wealth brings ( society )
  • Wealth was often the root of many disputes in Mali
  • c. 1200 the very beginning. Mali began as a small landlocked kingdom, just stray of West Africa. It was a dangerous mix of savannas and flat rolling plains. Accompanying that, was its harsh hot climate. However, thanks to the Niger and Senegal Rivers. The people of this vile place were able to work the tough land into rich and fruitful soil.

  • As the years went on, Mali begin to steadily grow. Many things begin to show promise, most notable however was Mali's economy. while resources like marble, salt, kola nuts, and copper brought in much needed money. It was gold that inevitably allowed Mali to climb to the top. Catching the attention of Islamic and European eyes.
  • Prayers ( religion )
  • Culture flowed through the cracks of Mali, since the very beginning
  • With the introduction of this new found wealth, Mali began to develop a nasty case of social segregation. Kings and nobles were often the most valued and wealthy people of Mali. While farmers made little to no money at the time. Slaves however were given almost nothing and like most regions that implemented slavery and absolutely no rights
  • In conclusion
  • The workforce of Mali primarily consisted of farmers and miners. as the land required constant supervision. The king of Mali whose name is Mandus, was said to have been the greatest ruler in the Mali legacy. He ruled under a form of government called a Republic, and lead Mali to greatness
  • After catching the eye of Islamic countries, it wasn't long before Islam became the official religion of Mali. The African culture and religions that were already there, were still respected and followed by many. Which allowed both to flow together seamlessly
  • In conclusion, what has been covered has only scratched the surface of what is the kingdom of Mali. A rich and interesting history invites those who care to peer into the past. And although much as been lost, you can be certain old tales and legends still live on.
  • The legacy of Mali is one full of tales, riches, noble kings, and so much more
