Mrs. Mallards sister arrived to tell her horrible news that her husband is dead. This affected Mrs. Mallard's emotions because she had heart troubles.
Mrs. Mallard is grieving and crying hysterically about her husbands death. She soon feels something that she hasn't felt in long time.
Mrs. Mallard finally feels FREE! She repeats those same words over because she is so content with the feeling she has now.
I'M FINALLY FREE!!!!
Whilst running down the stairs mrs. Mallard catches a glimpse of someone she wished was dead. Her husband.
Mrs. Mallard collapsed to the floor and died, this is because of her heartattack. She was just content with the thought of being free and seeing her husband alive and well just gave her too much of a shock.
Marriage is important. During this time people didn't marry for the right reason. Mrs. Mallard was feeling caged in her marriage and she wasn't the only woman to feel this way during her time.
